Wall Street Journal who is known to be Apple’s Favorite for “Leaking” information officially, is confirming earlier reports about an iPhone Nano. It was earlier reported by Bloomberg that Apple will introduce an iPhone smaller in size and the hardware will be similar to iPhone 4.

According to WSJ, Apple is working on cheap iPhone to compete with growing competition (Android). This iPhone Mini or iPhone Nano will be available to customers on half of the price of main iPhone. After carriers subsidize its price, it will be available almost for free with contract. It is in contradiction to earlier Bloomberg’s report which claimed iPhone Nano will be available off contract.

Apple is also making an overhaul to their MobileMe service which acts as a synchronization service for contacts and calendars. Currently, it is available for yearly subscription of 99$. Apple plans to synchronize music, videos and photos thus reducing need of more on board storage. Apple intends to offer it free in summer if all goes well.

The report also claims that Steve Jobs is still involved in development of these products despite the fact He is on medical leave.
