Chronic Dev Team released Greenpois0n RC5 to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 untethered for OTB devices and it didn’t require any pre requisite like SHSH Blobs or beta firmware. They have some more iOS vulnerabilities which can be used for a 4.3 Jailbreak. However, they don’t seem interested to develop an untethered iOS 4.3 jailbreak. May be they are reserving this exploit to eventually Jailbreak iPad 2 when it is released running iOS 4.3.1.
Who is going to jailbreak iOS 4.3? A jailbreak is due from @comex and it will likely be released for iOS 4.3. However, iPhone Dev Team wants to use Monte technique to jailbreak iOS 4.3 as well on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. It will likely be backup plan and will be released as redsn0w 0.9.8. We hope that Redsn0w 0.9.8 will be released for Windows and MAC at the same time. Users won’t have to wait for redsn0w 0.9.8 for Windows as majority jailbreakers use Windows OS. However, Monte based redsn0w 0.9.8 will required you to have 4.2.1 firmware and SHSH blobs. Therefore, save the blobs and firmware to get an early iOS 4.3 jailbreak.
