Greenpois0n has been update to RC4 and is available for Windows or MAC. It is the first jailbreak tool which brings support to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on any iPod Touch specially iPod Touch 2G MC Models. iPod Touch 4G and 3G were already supported. In short, you can jailbreak iPod Touch 4.1 firmware on any compatible device and jailbreak is untethered using the exploit used in Limera1n.
Update: Greenpois0n has been update to work with iOS 4.2.1. Make sure you have stock 4.2.1 Firmware instead of 4.1. [Update using iTunes]
Note: Before proceeding make sure that your iPod Touch is running stock 4.1 firmware.
- Download Greenpois0n for Windows or MAC.
- Run Greenpois0n.Turn off your iPod Touch and plug into computer.
- Click on “Prepare for Jailbreak (DFU)”
- The following instructions are given by Greenpois0n to enter iPod Touch into DFU mode.
- Press and Hold Sleep Button for two seconds
- While holding sleep; press and hold home for ten seconds.
- Release sleep button; continue holding home for fifteen seconds.
- iDevice is now ready to be jailbroken. Hit “Jailbreak”
- You have to wait till it flashes “Jailbreak Complete”h
- There should be a Loader app on home screen. Use it to install Cydia

To save a lot of confusion for people, this how to is NOT correct.
If you're running 4.1 on a 2nd generation, this will NOT work. This is why your loader app won't open. This jailbreak isn't for 2nd generation. Any other generation you should be okay. If you have 4.1 on a 2nd gen, update to 4.2 and then jailbreak using greenpois0n.
TL;DR Greenpois0n will NOTNOTNOT jailbreak your 2nd generation 4.1 Touch.
i have ipod touch 3g version 4.1 installed everything but loader wont open any help? i am re-installing it now
i have the latest generation iPod running 4.1 and know on itunes their is the 4.3.1 update, so if i download it and try to jailbreak my iPod will it work or their is something else to do ??
I tried this and the greenpoison downloaded on my iPod perfect but I tried to get cydia on the loader and it shows the cydia app on my iPod but it does not work, I tap on it and it goes white then goes right back to the home screen in a split second and I can’t find a way to fix it.

My greenpoison did not respond and then my thing stayed on white screen luckily i rescued it with recovery
i've a ipod touch 4. version 4.1 . i used greenpoison to jailbreak. the process is fine but my loader app icon is white in colour and cant open it too. how i suppose to solve it?

I downloaded it and did everything correctly. Just wondering if I am though. Is there supposed to be a screen with a bunch of very small white words and stuff? And my iPod wont come off of that screen.
