Sn0wbreeze 2.0.1 is available for users to jailbreak their iPod Touch 3G running 4.1 firmware. It is really useful for those who can’t use redsn0w 0.9.6 because there it only supports iPod Touch 2G. Sn0wbreeze 2.0.1 will devise a custom firmware which will be later restored to iPod Touch 3G.
Requirement: iPod Touch 3G must be Jailbroken on 3.1.2 firmware
Here is an illustration to assist you in preparing a custom 4.1 firmware for iPod Touch 3G and later restoring it to iPod Touch 3G which will eventually jailbreak iPod Touch 3G 4.1.
- Make sure latest iTunes is installed already. [Link]
- Grab sn0wbreeze 2.0.1 and 4.1 firmware for iPod Touch 3G.
- Launch sn0wbreeze 2.0.1 and select “Expert Mode”.
- Select 4.1 firmware for iPod Touch 3G which was grabbed in second step.
- Make sure that “Use iBooty Method” is selected under General Category.
- Finally, sn0wbreeze will start making custom 4.1 firmware and will inform when it is “Done”.
Connect your iPod Touch 3G to the computer and launch iTunes. Select your iPod Touch from the sidebar. Hold “Shift Key” and click on “Restore”. Now locate the custom iPod Touch4.1 prepared by s0nwbreeze. You are done with your part. Rest will be done by iTunes.

(The reason I ask is because when running sn0wbreeze it states that they won't be responsible for damages to any devices. Would I run the risk of messing up my iPod?)

I did the six steps and, it is not jailbroken anymore. I tried to run blackrain and it crashes. I had my Ipod Touch w/ firmware 3.1.2 jailbroken, but now it is not.
