iPhone 4.1 update has been released by Apple for iPhone 4 3GS 3G and iPod Touch 3G 2G which brings some new features and fixes several bugs. It was reported earlier that Jailbreakers and Unlockers should stay away from iPhone 4.1 update as it would take away their jailbreak and unlock for sure. Unlockers were specially warned because there is no hope yet to unlock iPhone 4.1.
Still a lot of users upgrade to new firmware like 4.1 and are stuck. The only hope for such users to retrieve jailbreak is that they have saved SHSH Blobs when they were on a jailbreakable firmware like 4.0 or 4.0.1. Those who upgraded to iPhone 4.1 and didn’t save the blobs are stuck until new jailbreak tool like GreenPois0n emerges to jailbreak 4.1 or eventually jailbreak 4.2.
Note: This guide is for those who saved their SHSH Blobs on iPhone 4.0.1 or iPhone 4.0 firmware. You can downgrade iPhone 4 3GS 3G to earlier firmware on which SHSH were saved.
Step1: Download Saved SHSH Blobs from Saurik’s server using Tiny Umbrella.
Step 2: Select “Advanced Option” and then choose the firmware to which you want to be downgraded. In this case it is 4.0.1 iOS. Then, select “Cydia” from the “Select From” drop down menu. Now, download SHSH to computer by clicking “Save My SHSH”
Step 3: Download original Phone 4.0.1 firmware to your desktop.
Step 4: Put iPhone in DFU mode. Turn off iPhone and plug into computer then start iTunes.
Step 5: Run Tiny Umbrella once again and Display SHSH to make sure they have been downloaded. Then “Start TSS Server”.
Step 6: Now Start iTunes and plug your iPhone once again. Hold Shift [Windows] or ALT [MAC] key and select “Restore”. Select the firmware downloaded in Step 3.
Step 7: If iTunes prompts message like 1011,1013 or 1015, just ignore them.
To get iPhone out of recovery mode, start Tiny Umbrella and click “Kick Device Out of Recovery”.

if I didn,t save the SHSH there is way to downgrade my 3gs from 4.1??
Genius, everything working so far. Up to Step 6 and the restore was verified! Restoring is taking place now. Not sure if I'm gonna have to kick myself out of restore mode, hope this finshes well. Cheers

I BOUGHT A NEW IPHONE 4 AND IS ALREADY IN official iOS 4.1 can i still downgrade it?
I have accidentally upgraded my apple iphone 3gs from 4.0.1 to 4.1 ios and cant use it now as normal phone. I dont have any idea about shsh blobs coz its not showing anything on the search. Also there is no CYDIA icon in the application. Please help, I dunno what to do, anyone please email me if you know how to resolve my problem. =( Thanks!
