iOS 4.1 Coming Soon to Fix Slow Performance on iPhone 3G

It has been reported by many iPhone 3G users and was also acknowledged by Apple that iPhone 3G running on iOS 4.0 to 4.0.2 has performance issues. They were reported from the beginning when iOS 4 was released but Apple didn’t take any step to fix this in the previous two releases. This matter was taken up by an annoyed user and sent an email to Steve Jobs.

I’ve waited patiently through 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, looking for a fix that will make my phone work again. I’ve read the forums that advise me to jailbreak my phone or use some other method so I can downgrade back to a version of iPhone 3, however I’m not prepared to use a method that is not supported by Apple.

Steve Jobs responded with a short and to the point statement:

Software update coming soon.

As we already know that iOS 4.1 is going to be next iOS update which is expected to be released when iPod Touch 4G and Apple TV are revealed in Apple’s tradition media event held in September. This “Coming Soon” from Steve Jobs is rather surprising as event is still weeks away probably.
