Apple released iOS 4.0.2 for iPhone 4 3GS 3G and iPod Touch along with iOS 3.2.2 for iPad . These firmware patched the bug used by JailbreakMe and thus potentially stopping jailbreaks not only from users but also from Apple Stores. Those who were able to Jailbreak iPhone 4 on 4.0/4.0.1 firmware were recommended not to upgrade if they wanted to remain jailbroken.

It is possible however that they didn’t save SHSH blobs and unknowingly upgraded to iPhone 4.0.2 firmware. Also the users who are buying iPhone 4 now will be shipped with iPhone 4 4.0.2 firmware running. Is it possible for them to jailbreak now? No. However there is no need to get panic as comex have found as bug in iOS 4.1 and is probably backward compatible with iOS 4.0.2. You have to wait to Jailbreak 4.0.2 on iPhone 4 until iOS 4.1 is out.

It is still unresolved whether we will see JailbreakMe 4.1, Spirit Jailbreak 4.1, or a new tool emerging for 4.1 Jailbreak as well 4.0.2 on iPhone 4.

no jailbreaking on iphone 4 with ios 4.0.2 sadly. If you used Cydia's "make my life easier tool it is possible to downgrade, either by typing a line into the file "C:WindowsSystem32driversetchosts" using notepad at the bottom (Windows users. not sure on mac one), downloading the firmware for iphone 4 ios 4.0.1 or even 4.0.0.

From there, activate DFU mode by turning off your device while connected to computer (itunes off), opening itunes, then holding down the power button until the apple logo appears, then hold down the home button as well, until the screen goes black, then let go of the power button until windows tells you it has found a new driver.

After that itunes should go funny and tell you a device is connected but it doesn't know what it is. Click find (Ithink, the one that isn't cancel) and should come up with device status with iphone as device name. hold down shift and click restore. Find your device driver (the thing you downloaded earlier). Iphone will do it's thing (hopefully), and you will be back to the original 4.0.0 or 4.0.1 (YAY!) and you can the re-jailbreak. but don't expect to see you're old jailbreak stuff though, you will probably have to re-download if you haven't used an app's server to back it up.
