Redsn0w has been traditionally jailbreaking every iPhone firmware that is revealed on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G [Non MC Model]. It hasn’t broken its tradition and can jailbreak iPhone 4.0.2 firmware on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G [Non MC Models]. Redsn0w 0.9.5 works to jailbreak iPhone 4.0.2 on Windows and MAC both.
You just need to update iPhone 3G or iPod Touch 2G to iPhone 4.0.2 firmware. After you should download redsn0w 0.9.5 and point it to iPhone 4.0 firmware. Yes you have to select iPhone 4.0 firmware not iPhone 4.0.2 firmware and proceed by selecting Cydia. Start your iPhone 3G in recovery mode and redsn0w 0.9.5 will do the rest. buddy this is for 3g older bootrom only? or we can use it on 3g wid newer bootrom?
It1s only for the older bootrom. I say it from my experience, as I updated my new iPhone (MC version) to 4.0.2 and now I can't jailbreak it. Unfortunatelly, on the redsnow webpage they don't specify this "small" detail.
