The iOS 4.0.2 firmware update has arrived and it can be named as iPhone 4.0.2 Firmware for iPhone 4 3GS 3G. It has patched the JailbreakMe exploit as expected therefore it should not work no longer. Obviously, new iPhone 4 3GS will be shipped with iOS 4.0.2 firmware. Still there is now work around which will enable JailbreakMe to Jailbreak 4.0.2 Firmware.
Update 2: Limera1n Download is available to Jailbreak iPhone 4 4.1
Update 1: Jailbreak 4.0.2 will not be a Reality but you should upgrade iPhone 4 to 4.1 firmware as Greenpois0n will Jailbreak it on Sunday.
We have earlier analyzed the JailbreakMe 4.1 possibility and we found out that it looks like a new vulnerability has been found by comex. It is unclear though will it be a fix to make JailbreakMe work once again for Apple’s Fix or a new tool like Spirit Jailbreak 4.1 will emerge. Most probably, the next tool to jailbreak 4.0.2 or Jailbreak 4.1 will be out in next month when iOS 4.1 Beta moves to stable status.

mate can you not just downgrade it using itunes i did that on my iphone 3
i used a firmware from the web that i wanted to go back to (like 3.0.2 for example)
then loaded phone into itunes went to backup option (when clicking backup hold shift) this will take you to a navigation menu navigate to the firmware you downloaded
Update the firmware ignore the 0012 – 0013 and 0015 error i think there the right codes not had to do it since i did the phone.
once backyp iscomplete
use blackra1n to put cydia on and jailbreak the phone if the phone does not unlock use cydia and download and run ultrasnow to unlock..
if your phone gets stuck in recovery or DFU mode run blackra1n and when phone goe4s to restart unplug (worked for me)
and now my phone after being updated to latest firm is now downfraded jailbroken and unlocked
how many time we will wait for it!!!!

iphone 4.0.2 can be downgraded to 4.0.1 and then unlocked. i did it already worked perfect.

Yeah im kicking my self in the ass now because i was on 4.0.1 YESTERDAY and me not knowing anything about anything was like well i cant jailbreak it unless i have 3.1.2 or some crap, i learned from the little research i did, so i was like well shoot ill just reset the damn thing because when i got the phone in july I reset it and then plugged it into itunes and it asked me if i wanted to upgrade to 4.0.0 and i was like sure. so i thought it would do the same thing again. but it DIDNT i just upgraded me automaticly to the even higher version 4.0.2 and then now im looking at youtube and find out i coulda just gone to that jailbreakme site all along and done it and now im like one version off. and so now what we just have sit and wait a month until they figure it out again?? all i wanna do is jailbreak the phone not unlock it. and i know nothing

It’s easy to downgrade from 4.0.2 to 4.0.1:
Go to iTunes > preferences > OS d-grade > computer
Select 4.0.1 from the list; viola!

Hey guys, I just wanted to say that my iphone4 is running on 4.0.2 and I tried Limera1n just to see what would happen and its jailbroken. I can't really explain how and why its worked but I'd ask for you guys still running on 4.0.2 to give it a try and see if it works out. Please comment.
