There has been no official Android 2.2 [Froyo] update for Motorola Droid rather there was a manual work around figured by Android Community to use Droid 2.2. It is still unconfirmed when will official Froyo for Droid will arrive. Before the official Android 2.2 arrives for Droid, the Android 2.2 FRG01B firmware has been rooted for Droid. BOOM!

Easy Root a one touch android app which has earlier rooted Droid and Droid X on 2.1 has been upgraded to support Droid 2.2 root. Bear in Mind that it can only root Android 2.2 FRG01B on Droid and it is available in the Android Market App. Here is the demostartion

The application costs you 0.99$. Really? You can also unroot Droid 2.2 with one touch.

I don't have phone service, just using the droid with wifi. I suspect it won't work as it asks to be activiated when rooting?
