We have been listening about an OTA update that will bring Android 2.2 a.k.a Froyo triumph for Motorola Droid. There have been some July dates floating around but August has arrived. The users are eagerly waiting to make an upgrade to Droid 2.2. Android Community has found a work around to bring Froyo for Droid.
The community has put a detailed guide which can be benefited to get Droid 2.2. Before moving forward, keep in mind.
- If Custom Rom is already installed, the Android 2.2 update will not apply.
- There will be an error if you try to get Android 2.2 on Droid running anything other than stock 2.1.
Two guides have been provided to get Froyo Android 2.2 on Droid. One guide illustrates how to apply the update to Droid using a PC/MAC. The other guide eliminates the need of a computer and you can upgrade Droid 2.1 to Droid 2 directly on your Phone.
