We will suggest you some solutions which may work. It is because that JailbreakMe is cloud hosted solution i.e. it is hosted on a server which has limited resources to handle the hits. Whenever, there is a huge rush to grab something hosted on web, the unavailability is normal case.
The most probable reason of JailbreakMe not working is the rush on server. To handle the rush, they have put their all efforts but the JailbreakMe storm can’t be handled. The Devs have hosted JailbreakMe on another server. Before revealing the second place which might get you working JailbreakMe, you should follow these instructions
- Wipe out the cache of your Mobile Safari. Go to Settings>Safari and press the Clear History, Cookies, and Cache Button.
- Visit jailbreakme.modmyi.com instead of jailbreakme.com
- Some reboots and reinstalling JailbreakMe might work as well.
iPad 3G on 3.2.1 firmware had a very high rate of failure on jailbreakme but it was due to a bug which has been patched.

I tried many times unsuccessfully on my os4 3gs mc model new boot until I rebooted and updated it to 0s4.0.1 in Itunes and reloaded jailbreakme. Then succesful!

used to work on mc model 3gs on OS 4. updated to 4.0.1 and now it doesnt work
Yeah same. Update to 4.0.1 means that I lost Cydia (which I expected), but now I can't use JailbreakMe to jailbreak it again. I presume that there was some stuff left over from when I did it the first time. Any ideas anyone?
If you have successfully installed from jailbreakme.com DO NOT UPGRADE TO 4.01 YOU WILL LOSE IT!
was jailbroken on 4.0 then i wanted to upgrade to 4.0.1 on my iphone 4 cuz of the dropped calls then i tried jailbreaking with jailbreakme.com again and gave me error so i folowed this tut and i'm jailbroken again, just cleared the cache cookies and history and went on jailbreakme.modmyi.com and it worked =) THX
