Warning if iphone already activated with AT&T sim card no way to activate with Phone book card. Sulotion everyone must update to new firmware without put AT&T sim to activate, then put Phone book card to activate instead, so it will work.

I think Phonebook cards are the easiest way but one needs to jailbreak the iphone first

You might want to confirm, unless there is something wrong with my iTune 10.0, the phonebook sim card don't work!

I updated my iPhone 3GS new bootroom from 3.1.2 to 4.0.1 using Cydia SHSH through iTune 10.0. Now I can't activate my iPhone even with the Phonebook sim card. It's still say the sim card is not support. You might have to wait for the new solution to come out. Now, don't waste your time buying the Phonebook sim card like me, cost me shipping to Asia $40, seems like a waste now. Look for other blog to find the solution, I am looking at the moment.
