The tools are available. According to MuscleNerd's twitter page, PwnageTool 4.01 works just as well with 4.0.1 as it did with 4.0, hence the name. They just need to run it on the new 4.0.1 Official iPSW.
I have an iPhone 3GS with OS 4.0 . I have never jailbroken before and don't have previous 3.1.2 SHSH blobs. Will I be able to JB my phone now, or I still have to wait? I've been waitin for a while..? thank you
A little more wait is recommended
unlikely especially if your 3GS is one of the newer models. I got mine in sept 2009 so its one of the "older" ones. Maybe the spirit tool would work….

The 3.1.2 SHSH Blobs are required only if you want to rollback (restore) the previous versions of firmware like "3.1.3" or earlier. On unofficial phones, you cannot rollback to previous version.

Guys, when it come out? Any clue? I cannot use my iPhone 3gs on os 4.01 because simlocked and cannot unlock because not have an official carrier.
go from your safari browser in your phone to "www.jailbreakme.com" is really easy, look for some more info in google. then run ultrasn0w on cydia. I have a 3gs on 4.0.1 and is working great. Good luck
