Surprisingly, Apple has released iOS 4.0.1 update for public although iOS 4.1 beta was released to developers last night. As promised by Apple, iOS 4.0.1 contains an update for signal bars calculation which should solve the Death Grip problem according to their last statement. The quest to jailbreak latest firmware iOS 4.1 had started already and now it is iOS 4.0.1 turn.
According to the last night developments, redsn0w 0.9.5 should be able to jailbreak iOS 4.0.1 on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G [Non MC Model]. Besides, we are soon going to get sn0wbreeze 1.8 beta which will jailbreak iOS 4.0.1 on iPhone 3GS [Old Bootrom],iPhone 3G, and iPod Touch 2G [Non MC Models]. An all in one untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4 3GS [Bew Bootrom as well] 3G and iPod Touch 3G 2G [MC and Non MC Models] will probably released as Spirit Jailbreak 4.0.1. Regarding iOS 4.0.1 unlock, there is still no word from iPhone Dev Team whether Apple has patched the baseband firmware or not.
