I had the same problem before and I struggled for almost a month but after knowing that it is a very silly mistake that the .ipsw file is not the correct one so try to again download the ios4 without any downloading errors and then try

You Need to run as Administrator, Then most likely it will work

I used pwntool for the iphone 3gs even though i have a 3g and build my own .ipsw and it worked for me

if it says urecognized that means you have wrong version of redsnow!!!!

worked! thank you so much! but one problem.. my iPod connects to the Internet but it wont load anything that uses Internet connection.. example….. app store, iTunes, Safari, etc.

Hey I am trying to jailbreak my iTouch 2G and I go and download all files from everything i have read. 4.0 firmware and 4.0.2 firmware. I run redsnow and then click browse. When I click the firmware it goes threw. But instead of saying it recognizes it it says, " Unable to recognize specified IPSW."
!!PLEASE HELP ME!!
