We already reported that iPhone 4 has been unlocked on iOS4 by iPhone DevTeam. It is world’s first software based unlock which works for iPhone. Right now, there is only one soft unlocked iPhone 4 on the face of earth and that belongs to the developer, @planetbeing. This happened after they have patched anti Blacksn0w tricks introduced by Apple to prevent unlock.

We have been further informed that they have three ways to get the unlock working once inside iPhone 4 baseband. The third one worked this time and they are going to test other two methods. Eventually, the best one in terms of install speed and stability would be released as updated ultrasn0w 0.9.4. The ultrasn0w unlock for iPhone 4 will be released along with Spirit 4.0.1 after Apple rolls out iOS4.0.1 update. It may take some time before unlock release because Apple might change baseband this time again and patch the exploits used by ultrasn0w 0.93.
