if u have and ipod that is 4.0.1 vertion go to jaibreak me .com on your ipod and it will say slide to jailbrea click yes and click jailbreak it will work if you have 4.0.1 vertion hope i helped!!!!!

How Sad we all are wasting our time trawling over these sites looking for a jailbreak

I believe the hacking community are beaten with the 3Gs with the latest baseband and if like me your iphone is now an ipod its forget apple go and buy the blackberry bold I did it’s a great phone – but I’d still like to have my iphone working

All I read is there is a hint of a jailbreak but it doesn’t seem to happen because Spirit and Blackrain and all the rest are beaten Apple might have lost a few battles but now they are winning the war Best thing to do is don’t buy products that tie you to a single carrier its wrong

If you were previously jailbroke and used blackra1n to do so AND saved your SHSH blobs with Cydia or the RockApp for 3.1.2 AND have the old bootrom you can restore to 3.1.2 and THEN use SnowBREEZE to create a custom 4.0 firmware with Cydia THEN install UltraSN0W from Cydia and BOOYA! you'd be unlocked on 4.0.

This is only if your an intermediate user AT LEAST and have a decent knowledge of how to edit your host file to connect to Saurik's server when iTunes reaches out for gs.apple.com.
