Finally, there is some good news for users who have been waiting to jailbreak iPhone 3GS new bootrom and iPod Touch 3G 2G [MC Models] on iOS 4 firmware. There was an earlier solution for iPhone 3GS exclusively but it was a bit complex. It also required you to have 3.1.2 SHSH Blobs. The developer has now released the simplified solution as sn0wbreeze 1.7.
sn0wbreeze 1.7 provides a tethered jailbreak solution for users of iPhone 3GS new bootrom and iPod Touch 3G 2G MC Models to run iOS 4.0 firmware. There is some relaxation in prerequisite which was 3.1.2 SHSH blobs. Sn0wbreeze 1.7 requires you to have either 3.1.2 SHSH Blobs or simple 3.1.2 firmware. The procedure has also been cut down which makes it easy for normal users as well.

still releasing useless things? if you were at 3.1.2 why would you use this method to jailbreak it when there's actually blackra1n and spirit already?

Whether this is complete Jailbreak or each time if we switch off the phone need a Computer and USB connection to reboot the iphone. same like for blackrain
