July 5, 2010

The party time is almost there as iPhone Hackers are getting more possession of iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS New Bootrom. We earlier reported that hackers have discovered new bootrom exploits but there was no assurance regarding the release date. Recently there have been some developments like @comex has found another userland jailbreak, @planetbeing has decrypted iPhone 4 bootrom and has been working along with @MuscleNerd on iPhone 4 baseband which was reported to be different previous iPhone versions. sn0wbreeze managed to jailbreak 3GS new bootrom for those who are in possession of 3.1.2 blobs.

iPhone4 Pwned iPhone 4 Jailbreak and Unlock iOS 4.1 Release is Close

Now, iPhone Dev Team has confirmed that as comex 4.0 jailbreak is upcoming release it was the time to work on iPhone 4 baseband and which has been also compromised by two prominent members of the team.

The baseband bootrom: c43b30a4ae92571338d93cc42c4050a40dce1e2a. However, @musclenerdand I have run into a speed-bump.

After the baseband bootrom acquisition, they are also hopeful to get exploits for 3GS new bootrom if Apple has fixed some thing in iPhone 3GS new bootrom when compared to the recent one in iPhone 4

@veeence (but yeah the idea is, if there are bug fixes in iPhone4 BB bootrom vs 3G/3GS, that could lead to 3G/3GS BB bootrom exploits)

Finally, they hint that the release if these new tools to jailbreak and unlock iPhone 4 is very close.

@xfsasx jailbreak for all devices at 4.0 is already handled by upcoming @comex release :) so, good time for iphone4 unlock stuff

This means that after exploitation, it is the time to refine them a bit more and release them for public.

Update: iPhone 4 Jailbreak is now possible with JailbreakMe

Update: iPhone 4 Unlock is out as ultrasn0w 1.0-1. Free you iPhone 4 from carrier’s dependence.
