I am from India using iphone 3g jailbroken with redsnow. Version 3.1.3 baseband 05.12.01. I want to unlock the phone but my wi-fi is greyed out and therefore cannot use utrasnow from cydia. Is there any other option to unlock without wi-fi.

can someone please help – im useless!! i got my at&t iphone 3g unlocked today at a local market, £25 for the privilage! but it keeps coming up with a springboard message an im having to restart it. what can i do? please help!

That should be long enough. Just hold down power and home buttons until it shuts down. Reboot hooray.

3GS with 3.1.3 and 05.12.01 baseband
Used Spirit to Jailbreak but had to run it in Win98/ME compatibility mode first to stop dll.exe error.
Opened Cydia and installed source. Downloaded Ultrasnow.
Phone stuck on last page with spinning donut.
I waited about 5 mins and then rebooted phone using home and power buttons together.
Phone now jailbroken and unlocked perfectly.

Press Power button + Home button for 15 secs.
Screen will get black.
NOw screen will flash back with Apple logo, press POWER button for 10 secs. this will turn on your phone and take you to the home page ..

So I unlocked my Iphone 3GS 3.1.3 baseband 5.12.01. But hey, Apple’s got us on a sweet hedonic threadmill, and now, I think I’d like to upgrade the OS on my iPhone.

Sooo…. question is, how do I safely go about and do this?

Hy guys. I have an Iphone 3g, 3.1.3 with 5.12.01 modem firmware and i did every step like you said but when it got to setting up ultrasnow, it blocked and i cant turn it off. At the bottom of the screen says reload spring board. I will probably have to wait until it remains out of battery. any of you had this problem?
