The users who are willing to upgrade their iPhone 3GS and 3G to iOS 4.0 GM candidate and also don’t want to lose their jailbreak are getting more and more choice to opt. The Hacker, Kaatje, which had managed to jailbreak iPhne 3GS on 4.0 firmware for the very first time has now released her bundle to jailbreak iOS 4.0 GM on iPhone 3GS as well. It uses a combination of PwnageTool 3.1.5, redsn0w 0.9.5, and a carrier bundle to cook a custom iOS 4.0 custom firmware which preserves iPhone 3GS baseband although you still need an official sim to activate. It does not support hacktivation yet.
I am presenting my bundle in hopes that it will help speed the porting of apps to iOS 4.0. The bundle I am presenting is geared for developers only so if you are not, you are on your own. Please be aware of the the following requirements:
- iPhone 3GS (with older bootroom, aka can be jb without tethering)
- iTunes 9.2 beta
- iPhone is currently jailbroken
- You have the original carrier sim (hactivation is not yet functional)
