The cheapest, (and best) way I've found for tracking my iPhone is FoneHome – it only costs 2 bucks, has no subscription fees, and works flawlessly. Check it out

If your iPad is sometimes left alone or is vulnerable to theft, check out the new STAYPad security enclosure for the iPad.

All metal construction, you can bolt or cable the STAYPad to a table.

Silly name.

The STAYPad can also be used to quickly create an iPad kiosk system.

My iPad was stolen. I used Find My iPhone to locate it, but there's nothing I can do with that information. It gives a location on a map, but not an address, so cops can't use it to get a warrant. It feels more like a cool novelty than a useful utility at this point.

For such an expensive device, at least Apple can e-mail you after you report its loss or theft, when the thief attempts to download enhanecements or needs repair to your IPAD. the thief is asked for information which they must provide before service is rendered. Apple checks its data bank and voila!!!!!!!! Simple refuse to service the item and tell them it has been reported stolen and should be returned. I have been rebuffed by Apple on this count – quick to take hard earned money, but little in ……. IPAD users and IPOD Users must put pressure on Apple via publicity and letters and e-mails, I strongly believe Apple will change its nose up in the air attitude. We pay top dollar for their products, this the least they could do for their APPLE consumers.. I lost my 3G -WI-FI 64GB model, last week during a bus trip. Apparently, it fell out of my bag and slipped somewhere and someone picked it up – serial number J3048DNVETV -with work product, family pictures and Itune music, books etc. To the individual who has it – I earned it, you didn't and I want it back – Reward awaits, depending on its condition – no questions asked.

I lost my ipad three days after. 16gb wi fi black. In the restroom of a Disney Resort. Celebrating my wife’s birthday. Taken a video and photos. Had written a poem etc. I am angry and sick but I did fill out a report to the police. The Police are the only people the legal department will talk to. Just in case my serial number is/was DMPFPK3LDFHW.

I have to agree with the 1st comment here, my IPAD was stolen and I called them and they said that there was nothing they could do. This was a very expensive device and I can't afford another one at all!!!!!!!!!!! I don't want to buy another one as i am not rich, apple should have a way that if the device is re-programmed that the serial number will show up again!!!!! I may never buy another apple device again due to how expensive they are!!!!!!

My two new iPad2's and smart covers were stolen in the customs/border patrol in Moscow, while in route to me in Russia. A $2,000 loss, along with all the stress and anxiety. Apple has refused to do anything to help us recover our stolen iPads, even after I reported them stolen. I have the serial numbers for my iPads but what use are the serial numbers if Apple won't do anything for customer support. We also filed a theft report with the local militia and a theft report with the Russian EMS Postal Service. My wife and I saved this money for four years and invested wisely, or so we thought…….Our wedding anniversary is on July 19th and iPads have been stolen. Some present huh???

I do not understand if all wireless devices have an IEMI and it is required when reactivating it with a wireless network like AT&T, why is it that those numbers are reported as stolen with such wireless networks.
