As you already knew that much awaited Spirit Jailbreak is out which is an untethered jailbreak for all iDevices irrespective of new bootrom and MC models. Spirit is compatible with Windows and MAC can jailbreak 3.1.3/3.1.2 firmware on iPhone 3GS 3G along with iPod Touch 3G 2G while iPad on 3.2 firmware. Your iDevices should be activated already as Spirit does not hacktivate.
Earlier solution to jailbreak iPod Touch 3G 2G on 3.1.3 firmware were tethered which requires you to connect with PC if iPod Touch sleeps or revives after battery drain. After jailbreaking with Spirit , you are no longer required to do these steps with iPod Touch 3G 2G on 3.1.3 firmware .
