Optical Discs like CD/DVD have been traditional way to store and transfer data from one computer to another computer although USB mass storage devices are replacing them rapidly for the specific tasks. Still they are used in a large quantity for entertainment purposes like storing images, music, and movies. Specially, DVDs and Blue Ray discs have a future for storing High Definition Video and Audio. Despite the decline in use of optical discs for physical transfer of data, CDs/DVDs are still in use for data backup purpose because there are relatively less chances of getting lost, damaged, or stolen optical discs while compared to USB storage devices according to my experience.

Great list!
I’m an avid user of both ImgBurn and CDBurnerXP. I’ve found that while ImgBurn has more options, its interface isn’t the easiest to navigate for all users. CDBurnerXP offers an easy-to-understand interface for all users.
