We usually perform repetitive tasks in our daily life as well as during everyday use of computer. This routine becomes more procedural in web browsing experience. The user executes many similar activities like opening same websites, checking email, filling forms and many more. The ability of web browsers to do the tedious work has been expanded by developing many add-ons or extensions. Usually, these extensions take the responsibility of one task only like filling forms, remembering passwords, or opening defined websites. What if this functionality to perform routine jobs can be executed using one extension? This will lower the number of extensions to be installed and managed.
iMacros for Chrome is an extension built to perform repetitive tasks in google chrome browser. Besides executing the example jobs mentioned above, the user can record and play any routine job. Some example of these jobs may be automatic upload, extracting data form websites, and automate clicks or keystrokes in an online game. In other words, any number and type of macros can be created. After installing the extensions, the user can test some macros available here.
After clicking the iMacros button, a new window appears with saved macros, play/record buttons, and preferences. The user doesn’t need to worry if passwords are being stored with iMacros because the extension provides strong encryption for passwords. The developers have also provided a password tool to generate 256-bit AES-encrypted password strings.
This extension is similar to the iMacros for Firefox add-on. Actually, it is from the same developers. Although, there is some functionality missing while compared to the counterpart in Firefox. Some features have not been yet added and some are not available due to bugs in chrome browser.
