“A picture is worth a thousand words” states that an image can be more influential than a significant amount of text. Complex descriptions can be understood easily with an image. These images are specifically called screenshots when they are grabbed by computer to point out some item on the monitor display. These screenshots may be utilized to explain steps in order to perform a particular task or the expected output resulting from these steps.
There are many general purpose applications to serve the job. But to take screenshot in web browsers, fine grained add-ons or extensions are developed. In case of Firefox, a bunch of add-ons is available. As Google Chrome browser is quite fresh, there is only one Aviary Screen Capture extension in the repository. The developers have already contributed a nice screenshot Capture add-on for Firefox. This extension has been built and tuned solely for Google Chrome browser.
While using Aviary in Chrome, you can only save visible portion of the web page. Unlike established screen capturing tools, whole or marked area of a Web Page cannot be captured. Addition of these features is being worked out as the extension is beta similar to Chrome. The screenshot immediately unfolds in a simple Image Editor where you can tweak the image if required. You can make tweak like adding text, arrow, or highlights, rotate, crop or flip. The user can save to capture to desktop, upload online or edit further in Aviary applications.
You can change the default Aviary editor from the settings dialog box. The extension is a nice and first effort to make a screenshot capture extension for Chrome. It needs to be improved in a lot of ways which can be learned from already established Firefox add-on of Aviary.
