View Facebook Friends on Earth Map and Arrange a Meeting

No doubt! Facebook is the most active and popular social network on the surface of Internet. Its rich features and elegant interface make it so much popular. Although Facebook was being challenged by Twitter but recent reports indicates that the difference between new users has widened and Facebook dominates the quest. Have you ever imagined some sort of integration between this social giant and some Online Maps Service? This integration could have resulted in some useful application.
Facebook Earth is such an interesting application which combines the services of two applications. It is a useful utility which will update you about
the locations of your friend. You will get to know where the majority of your Facebook friends exists. Even you can estimate that how much you are social in a local area, your home country, or internationally.
Facebook Earth uses WPF, Virtual Earth, Facebook Developer Toolkit and Yahoo Map Service. Just install the application and launch it. The application will launch in full screen mode and a Facebook login window will appear. Just enter your credentials and it will get you login into Facebook Earth. In the following window, you have to get your list of friends which will appear in the right side bar of the window with large profile images of your friends. If you click on get map, it will present you with the locations of your friend on earth map.
*Caution! it will take some time depending on the number of your friends
This utility can be really helpful when you are moving around and easily find out if there is a friend in the area where you are roaming. After finding the desired friend, just right click and fix a meeting point. Then move the cursor above your friend’s image and notify them about the meeting point by sending a message.
In short, Facebook Earth will never let you forget to meet your friend whenever you are in his territory.
