There are many occasions when you want to split a large file into smaller portions for easy handling. Suppose you want to email a large file which is greater than the maximum size allowed by an email service. How do you send it? Even if it is within the limit, you may face difficulty. Similarly, you want to upload a large media file to file hosting service and you are again in trouble. Another situation may arise when you want to burn your file on a media like CD or DVD and the file size is again above the limits. The solution is to split the file in smaller pieces using a file splitter and then it can be joined back into the large file when required.
ConcaDec is a freeware and simple file splitter and joiner. It is a
portable utility and no installation is required. It has many options to adjust the file division process according to your requirements. You can choose to split a file either by required size of file portion or the number of file portions. If you choose to split a file by choosing your own size, you can select the size by Bytes, KB, MB, and GB. The most useful feature is to select a predefined size to split the file. It has multiple write able media options of different sizes like Floppy, CD, DVD, and USB. The preview option shows that resulting components of input file. It also lets you select whether to delete or not input file after success full operation.
The concatenation tab has also an intuitive interface. You have to select the file components and output destination. Now just concatenate them and original file will be joined from divided parts.
There is another option to join the file components. During the split process, an executable build file is created. Just launch the rebuild file created and ConcaDec will join the file from its smaller chunks.
