Still in both cases, you wake up some day and a yellow pop up message appears in your system task bar that you are out of Disk Space at one of your disks and need to wash unnecessary data. Similarity is there to help you in cleaning the mess i.e. caused by Duplicate Content. Similarity is a utility for windows operating system from GAR Software to search similar music files in a fast manner. There are a lot of 3rd Party softwares for this purpose but they do not match with Similarity. Although Similarity is a new one in the market but it can compete with key players in the area like Clone Remover from Molekin Soft.
The strength of Similarity is its three powerful algorithms which compare music files by Content, Tags and Experimental algorithm method and find out Duplicate Content. Because of this feature, the yield of this program is high and the results are accurate. It evaluates two music files by sound comparison instead of bit-to-bit comparison which is not a good technique to seek duplicate music files.
You can select a folder to find duplicate content or two folders to judge whether they contain duplicate files or not. Moreover you can compare a local hard disk folder with a Removable drive like USB Flash Drive. It also has the option to search network drives. The first indicator “%content” indicates the percentage of the files equivalence with respect to content while the second shows the results generated by tags comparison (e.g. title, artist and album tags of two music files).

Here you can change evaluation methods .The default options are finest to get best results in a short time. The experimental method checks the two files very comprehensively but it is very slow. You can also change the sensitivity of search. The more sensitive you go the more accurate results will come at cost of more time.
One more benefit of this software is its support for extensive list of media files like MP3, MP2, OGG, WMA, ASF etc. It also supports file formats like FLAC, APE, WF, and WMA. Moreover it has a built in tag editor which provide choices to edit title name, artist name and various properties of a music file.
